Limestone Soap Dish & Coaster

These limestone soap dishes will work well in any bathroom. They can also be used as coasters for hot drinks. Made from travertine, a form of limestone found naturally in sweet water mineral springs. This porous material is the perfect surface for your soap, allowing excess moisture to be absorbed by the sponge-like limestone. Travertine is seen around the world in nature as a white (and sometimes yellowish-brown) terraced structure. Probably the most well-known building made of travertine is the Sacré-Coeur de Montmartre church in Paris. These soap dishes also feature four small thin cork feet to elevate the limestone slightly from the service.
